Dan Krill is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and folk singer. He got his chops playing worship hymns at Sunday services while still in grade school. Simultaneously he wrote and recorded weird songs with found instruments using a 4-track tape recorder. His brothers did the same. Together they collaborated with friends to form various bands influenced by Pixies, Pavement, Hum and more. All the while, their father, a die-hard Dylan fan, bombarded them with the lyricism of one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
After watching the Coen brothers' "Inside Lleyn Davis (2013)," Dan was inspired to learn finger-style guitar and start immersing himself in folk music. Finding inspiration from Woody Guthrie, Cat Stevens, Donovan, Leonard Cohen, and, yes, Bob Dylan, he immediately connected with the poetic, grounded lyrics and the intricate relationships between chords and picking patterns.
Presently, Dan has over 5 albums of original songs that he performs with a wide network of musician friends. Though he plays guitar, drums, bass, and harmonica, Dan loves to collaborate with others to enrich the overall writing/recording experience. Listen for organ, ukulele, trumpet, washboard, toy piano, mandolin, saxophone, accordion, piano, tuba, banjo, and more!
